Not necessary. The Internet is a valuable resource. HSBC could have logged onto SI at any time and read Brubaker's analysis.

But, HSBC most certainly did not speak with management. This activity clouds one's rational deliberations.

As for Wexler, it's possible that HSBC Holdings discounted the guy as a nut case. One must be very careful when interpreting statements made on the Internet.
