I've noticed that some people like to ignore the number of Americans who commit crimes, but are quick to point out the same numbers for illegal immigrants. Is being killed or raped by a citizen somehow better than being killed or raped by an undocumented person?

The decline reverses a trend that peaked during the pandemic in 2021 when the United States suffered the most gun deaths on record.
