We were discussing Saddam's demise at work today. Should he be hanged or death by firing squad. Apparently the tradition in Iraq is hanging, but firing squad is permitted for military executions. Saddam apparently wants a military execution but he was never in the military until he appointed himself commander after he seized control of the government. They could make it a big party. Have a tailgate and execution in the desert. Keep every armed Iraqi behind a line to prevent accidental shootings and let Saddam go a couple hundred yards away. You would probably draw at least ten thousand who wanted to repay him for the years of tyranny.
