For the last 3 months my 8-year old daughter wanted to celebrate her Birthday ice skating with her 10 closest friends (cost ~$250 to $300). Every day she was telling us how excited she was about the day. Last week she changed her mind and signed a new contract with my wife:

She will cancel the ice skating party if we buy her an iPad.

Once we agreed, I told her about some of the other options that are out there just so I can see her reaction. Her only words....."Are you serious dad????" and immediately she told me she wanted the white color iPad and what type of case she wanted.

I went to the new Apple store in PA to buy her an iPad and couldn't decide on the size. BTW, the new store looks like a Modern Art Museum! The mini also looked amazing and I was shocked how light it was. Many people around me were saying the same thing. I know my sister always complain about the weight of the iPad.

I think kids are going to love the new mini and I strongly believe that it is going to be the top selling toy for Xmas. Like I said, Birthdays are big thing for my kids and my daughter was willing to let go of the entire celebration to the get her hands on an iPad. We ended up having a party for her in our house and all her friends knew about the mini and they spent most of the time talking about their preferences.

I am sick and tired of my laptop at home, it is running slow and it freezes every other day and we are forced to reboot. It will be nice to have an iPad around but only if our daughter would allow us to use it :).
