Ketchikan. I like Ketchikan too....have been there 3 times so far...Long string of a small city against the mountains. They don't need a bridge to an island where they can build house....The people there seem pretty adept on bulding on the hills themselves. Rather, maybe another ferry...have a whole little community there, with wonderful shops, native crafts, cultural center....and maybe a place for a Native Salmon Bake... The tourists would love it, and so would the natives of Ketchikan...after the tourists are gone, they could enjoy the place by themselves....via ferry. Keep cars out of the island, and let golf carts rule for transportation.

If you ever go back, there is a super little store named Julies..Great things, and local owner for years. She's been honest in our several dealings with her....
