If demand was low, they would have the opposite problem - too much inventory. shipment delays at least mean there is someone to ship the product to - remember that the consumer business does not use the channel distribution that the commercial business uses.

Since CPQ has much less dependence on Taiwan than DELL, this does call into question what the results of DELL's 12 week study will turn up. But CPQ's consumer business uses more Taiwan components than the desktop business.
