regarding #reply-15036174 and your statement, "Disable your virus protection before you load it", i'd like to clarify a couple of items.

disabling antivirus software prior to installing any new software is a very good procedure. however, it should definitely be kept running when you are downloading the program, and a virus scan of the newly loaded file should be made before install. this also is just good practice.

if you are receiving virus alerts from your av program, imo you should be investigating the cause (as pointed out in the above linked reply). if either networkice or mcafee can't explain these positives, then there is a problem.

in a subsequent reply to me, you indicated that you did not then know if a scan would produce a virus. is that still the case? imo, if the problem is coming from mcafee, then by now they would have issued a new definition that patches it, and all of this would not be an on-going issue.

so what i am asking is, have you run a virus scan and have you obtained new virus definitions, yet still receive the positive alert?

:)
