I figured that you would see it as a big warning sign of possible dilution and that has been my concern. Being new to this stock I don't know all the poop that the older guys have waded through. I did however, talk to Scott Sitra, BANY's PR man and he told me that without any doubt there was NOT any new shares being issued that had not already been announced. Of course I questioned whether this 1.5 million shares that are about to be released may have been previously shorted. That is still a possibility in my mind.

Even if those shares have been shorted against, that does not mean that the stock will collapse. It would just mean that the short squeeze might not be as big as we had hoped. That would explain the weak share price. But in my opinion, if the current holders pull their certs in force it would still cause a small short squeeze. This would be because, as you and I have learned in our previous lives...no short ever plays it safe and stops with the total shares they have coming back in.

It's a gamble but it seems to have a small downside risk compared to the possible upside potential at this time.

Consider this...if the shares that are about to be issued were shorted offshore some months ago...they will be used to cover the short. Then, once the short is covered...the short market makers will take their ball and go play on some other field. Leaving our field to the longs. That would begin a period of normal trading patterns of which there would be rewards for the longs if the company performs. And there will be trading opportunities along the way.

As always...this is just an opinion and I welcome any comments.
