The Guru was more a pun on your handle -- one expects a guru to proclaim the One Path to Enlightenment, and maybe to riches <vbg>. And of course, speaking of Mexico, Commandante Marcos... I have a more sanguine attitude towards the Mexican election than most. Although the election is being fought with a partisan viciousness that matches, even surpasses, what you see in American elections, I think the institution of Mexican democracy is very strong. Plus I think we are seeing a similar situation to what we saw in Peru -- as a relatively large proportion of the populace is poor and uneducated, we hear strident rhetoric that appeals to them before the election, and then whoever wins will follow a more centrist path once they're in office. We shall see. LC
