Nadine...I think radical religious movements are more likely to develop in more advanced nations and not in the 3rd world.

Radical Islam seems to have evolved in countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia and not the more impoverished Muslim nations.

The "rightwing militias" that spawned Tim McVeigh had a very strong religious context.

As we begin to see more income disparity and a lower overall standard of living in the U.S., I wouldn't doubt that we might see more splinter Christian groups willing to take the law into their own hands.
