I don't think you would find any US military person in a position of authority who would bet the lives of American soldiers on the assertion that Iraqis won't fight door-to-door. If that was the case, there would be nothing to discuss. They know the risk. And they know the cost in blood -- the blood of the sons and daughters who live in the houses in your neighborhood if it turns out they are wrong.
