I don't think you can count on that ... yet. If by the horrific one's, you mean the extremist insurgents, I think you are wrong. The moment we withdraw our support for national security the Al Sadr Al-Mahdi Army and its counter part in the Al-Quaida Zaraqawi forces will draw the 'good one's' under their wings. There is no way anybody wants to be caught out in the open or be viewed as oppositional without the protection of one of these. If we stick it out long enough for the Iraqi police and national security to gain enough strength to stand on its own, then I think we should remain as a shadow force long enough for the good Iraqis to gain confidence in their own system. If we leave too soon then the genocidal blood bath will be overwhelming followed by the establishment of your three states. The Sunni and Shi'a states will be the most extreme we have ever seen and will be a magnate to extremists. Then the bad stuff begins.
