One last AMD post for the evening.

I see that AMD will contribute $2.5mm over the next 5 years to endow the W.J. "Jerry" Sanders III-Advanced Micro Devices Endowed Chair in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Jerry's alma mater, the University of Illinois. If I was an AMD shareholder, I would be appalled that AMD would use what may very be critical cash so that the CEO could have yet another ego trip.

If Jerry wants an endowed chair, he ought to give the money himself to U of I. If AMD gives the money, Jerry ought to keep his name off the chair. This is so far off the corporate governance screen it is laughable, although AMD shareholders might not be laughing.
