calculated speculation is not gambling since the odds are calculated based one's knowledge, experience, etc. At least Soros also define it that way. Be definition traders are all speculators (i.e., trade the market up and down). Investors only trade for the market up and mostly long term, IMHO. Looks like all the tech stocks are a little overbought these couple of days... even compaq or intel...
