Stem cell-based stocks & Monthly Bio Roller Coaster: Biotechnology stocks in general closed up over the month ending 11/30/04. The AMEX Biotechnology Index (BTK) gained 0.66% while the BioBizNet Select Index (BBNSI) soared 4.13%. Many BBNSI stocks, however, gained over 9 to 25% for the month such as CRA, LAKE, LMNX, ORCH, OSIS, SGEN, VIFL and VLGC. Several stem cell-stocks didn't do well between November 2 and November 30, since these stocks were way up just before the Nov. 2 election and then went down. It might be expected that stocks like GERN and STEM are now due for a rebound and may be better gainers in the BBNSI Index this December. See biobiznet.com
