<<Look at Saddam has formed his government: stock market, real estate market, universities, equal treatment of women, etc.>>

Not having lived in Iraq I can't be 100% for sure but I don't think Saddam is what we would want to strive to be like in terms of human rights. I also don't think Saddam views us or countries around him as trading partners. I think what Saddam would like more than anything is to be the person that helped put a dent in the US. I don't know much about Castro and I don't know why he hasn't attempted to create or filter in bios as part of his military weaponry. I do know that between he and Russia they put one hell of a scare in us back in the 60's. In some ways (after the WTC) I have wondered if the uncertainty and vulnerability we feel now isn't much like what people felt then. I wasn't alive for that crisis so I don't know. When it comes to OBL we all agree that he must be destroyed. But I'm not so sure Saddam hasn't worked with him and even if he hasn't I would be willing to bet that he admires him. Saddam has also (much like the prince in Saudi Arabia) sent checks to Palestinian families who have had a loved one decide to strap on some TNT and go blow up a few jews. IMO thats pretty uncool regardless of how I feel about how the Israelis have handled themselves. Is that funding terror? Maybe not in the perfect sense of the term but it does call into question his motives and the quality of his being. Would a war be good for the economy and as a result Bush as you asked? Well...maybe. Conventional wars have proven to be a stimulus for our economy in the past but times have changed. I'm not sure what to expect from a war that would include terrorism used here. I don't think we can depend on it in the same way we could in the past. This is a much different beast. Being a pretty honest person myself I really don't want to believe that the underlying economy is what drives a president to decide if war is the correct path to take. I'm as suspicious as the next guy when it comes to government but in my heart I don't want to believe that people in power decide to send American kids off to die to benefit the economy.
