Of course my comment on "stupid public policy" was very tongue in cheek. The whole energy issue is highly politicized, making it difficult to separate fact from fiction. And I agree that the result is a shameful waste of resources.

Of course we may be seeing only the tip of the "stupidity" iceberg. The new Energy Bill has been stalled in Congress until after the election, along with Social Security reform, pension reform, medicare reform, etc.

I can hardly wait to see 2005!!
