Orckit Wins HDSL Contract in Czech Republic
TEL AVIV, Israel, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Orckit Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: ORCTF - news) announced that SPT TELECOM, a.s., the national telecommunication operator of the Czech Republic, selected the CopperTrunk(TM) HDSL product line for deployment.
In a competitive evaluation that took place in four different Czech Republic regions, Orckit's HDSL systems performed better in noisy environments than the other HDSL systems tested. In addition, Orckit's Network Management System enables SPT TELECOM to test, monitor and configure the systems remotely, giving the operator advantages in developing its network.

Fluke Partners with Orckit to Develop ADSL Test Equipment; Service Providers Realize Benefit with New Cost-Effective Installation Tool
EVERETT, Wash., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Fluke Corporation (NYSE: DHR - news) and Orckit Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: ORCTF - news) announced today the signing of a definitive agreement for the joint development and manufacturing of Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) test equipment.
Fluke has licensed Orckit's ADSL technology, to develop a customized ADSL tester that is interoperable with the SPEEDPORT(TM) DSLAM product from Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. and partner Orckit. This tester will also be interoperable with Orckit's FastInternet(TM) DSLAM systems available worldwide. As a result of the partnership, Orckit customers now have access to a cost-effective tool for verifying ADSL service installations.
''As service providers have selected our ADSL equipment, in many cases they have also expressed a need for test equipment,'' said Nigel Cole, vice president of business development at Orckit.
