that's the point actually -- the remark by Raines yesterday regarding refi's is an attempt to smooth folks ahead of a decline in originations -- it won't work. Their profitability depends on it now. This may not be THE day to short/put FNM, but we are surely in the right couple of months or weeks for sure ...
