Thanks Rambi, Yes, I can see the pattern! :-)

The wife wanted to skate out and use the horses instead of walking the hill, but I was glad we walked back down the hill and over to the bridge overlooking the castle. Beautiful site, and the weather cleared just enough for me to get some great pictures.

I didn't get a chance to read any books on the Mad King before we left, but between the two tours and buss drivers giving us a history lesson, I think I learned enough. Lonely weird guys all of them if you ask me. All that wealth, and not a clue how to spend it wisely. Well, I suppose the place is still generating profits for the region in tourists, so maybe he was onto a business model after all building castles.

Yes, we did visit Innsbrook. Charming little city nestled in the foothills of the mountains. I was expecting something bigger, so was pleasantly surprised. Just spent the day walking around, having lunch and buying some tourist trinkets. Nice place.

Tomorrow it's off toward Venice, where we might stop in a town or two along the way.

Amazing how easy you can drive from one country to another in Europe these days. No border crossings, just get in the car and zoom! ;-)
