Perhaps the strangest thing of all is that modern day left of center folks think that corporations run America via their influence on the government. If you believe that, why would you want government to be more powerful? If corporations control the political process, why wouldn't you be on my side, reducing the power of government That's what gets me. The old line Socialists will say that politicians are corrupt and untrustworthy, and the capitalist system grinds the little man down. So what's the solution? Centralize economic power in the hands of the government, ie politicians. Get that? Hey, let's give the corrupt and untrustworthy ones ALL the power, so we can keep an eye on them, right? Derek
