Noting continued weakness in the telecommunications market, Sonus Networks (SONS: news, chart, profile) warned first-quarter revenue would come in at about $21 million compared with analysts' estimates of $32.5 million. In the year-ago period, revenue totaled $41.5 million, according to First Call. In addition, the voice infrastructure products company anticipates a first-quarter loss of 8 cents a share, excluding one-time items, while analysts have been expecting a loss of 4 cents a share. The company also expects to record a $5 million to $10 million charge in the quarter, associated with excess inventory. Shares closed down 11 cents to $2.82 ahead of the news Wednesday.
