I don't think so... Sharon's first responsibility at this point should be the security of his country.

No, he hasn't. However, I firmly believe that peace talks with the current Palestinian leadership would be farcical anyway. I don't think that any other leader would've gotten them there. Barak gave it all Israel had; he laid it all on the table, to no avail.
