Why did Russia invade Ukraine?
It should be obvious. PooTin wants to bring back the former glory of the Soviet Union.

His background, his bubble of alternate reality, and his rattling of the n00klear saber, clearly shows that he longs for Cold War 2.0.

Unfortunately for him, something happened on the way there. Ukraine ended up being a tough nut to crack.
