gold bullion (coins) are easy to buy in NYC (and probably some other large cities) with no paper trace from private dealers, costs a few bucks per coin more than mail order if you buy in quantity (they don't charge shipping often witht the mail orders), but definitely worth it if you expect the price to appreciate significantly. not that i would ever do such a thing myself -g-
