Trite as it sounds, the middle east is not exactly politically stable -- politics is the wild card. Anybody who thinks that we will have Arab "friends" when the bullets start flying is not paying attention. In each of the Arab countries they will do what they need to do to protect their own weak grip on power -- in that environment we will have few if any friends.
