Don Coxe thinks the real plays are commodity plays and that one holds the gold and gold miners only as insurance . Earning nothing on them in ones portfolio will be fine as it will mean no disaster has take place and the large profits on the base plays will make up for static gold performance. Contrary to what some may claim this misquote and total disjoined attempt to capture the essence of what Don has said is not the reason his broadcast will no longer be available to the general public. Neither will the printed Basis Points. Given the actual use of silver I see it more as a commodity play than just a pm. China's growth may slow but consumption of metals will still be going up.
