GM sat fat and happy for years with gas guzzling SUVs and big trucks. They made tons of profit on those things while ignoring the small cars and failing to improve their efficiency for manufacturing and selling them.

I think it's interesting that they've been slammed by the big spike in gasoline. If there had been none, they would not be in this condition even with their inane management blunders.

I'm sure they're thinking about that right now. Maybe they'll blame the Bushies and the Republikans and, heck, energy expert Palin LOL. Someone in Saudi Arabia (and Iran and Canada and Venezuela and Russia) is sitting on a pile of GM's money and I doubt they'll give it back.

What happens to things like spare parts and service for GM cars or, heck, Chrysler and Ford cars if they all go belly up?
