I think you're overly balled up about this Saudi thing, though. The Saudis will come around when we need for them to. They won't have any trouble remembering who protects them from Saddam, & they're not fools.

I wish I could trust that but I don't. I still see the Saudi rep to the peace talks kissing the Iraqi rep full on the lips, and I don't think they are gay.

There is a new kind of confidence in the Arab world that I find disconcerting. It wouldn't bother me if 9/11 had not happened, and if the Israelis and Palestinians were not going at it but unfortunately they are. And I think Bush gets it, too......he looked a little shaken, maybe that's too strong a word, a little disturbed after his meeting with the Saudi prince. And it was not by chance that someone leaked to the WSJ the day before Bush's meeting with the prince that the Saudis are planning to use oil as the lever.

Again, there isn't one single thing I can point to but its a feeling that there are plans being made behind the scenes that could change this situation on a dime.
