<1) What specific problem do you have with the establishment of the largest US Embassy being built in Iraq?>

It looks and operates more like a national operations control center and shadow government than an embassy -- we do not need several thousand people to staff an embassy anywhere in the world. This is not an embassy -- it is just called one.

<2) Why is it a problem for you that US military bases are being built in Iraq?>

We should not make plans to stay on their soil forever until they have a legitimate government that can invite us to stay -- or not.

<3) Upon what do you base your prophesy regarding Sadr et al... and our 'exit' strategy?>

The best organized groups in Iraq are not "our friends" -- the King of Jordan is right on this point. We are likely to face the prospect of people being elected who would otherwise be squaring off with us in an armed conflict -- and in many cases they already are.

<4) What do you mean by, wanting to 'control Iraq', since that seems to be your primary problem with our circumstances.>

We are running Iraq -- badly as it turns out. As Powell put it "you break it, you own it". Well, we certainly broke it. And as for owning it, there are certainly some in the Bush Administration who thought this was the whole purpose of the exercise to begin with.
