Pat,

I was flying yesterday over Lake Tahoe and noticed (again) how the Sierras are all rock, snow or pine trees. When the plane got over Colorado, the world below was green grass, meadows and lush diverse forests of evergreen, oak and aspen.

The coastline off Pacific Grove is tough to beat though.
