I reduce the load I support at night by putting everything but sheets, blankets, and cats into a duffle bag, which I store in the bath tub. Then I drink a big cup of coffee, which makes me wake up every few hours to pee, and I use those occasions to make sure my bag is still there. After that, I get into bed and start supporting blankets, and I'm ready to support cats i f necessary. I began to perfect that routine in '08, just before the election. Prior to that, not sleeping at night was a virtue, cuz I worked the night shift. Thanks for asking. I'm been thinking of writing an instructional book about my technique, andyou've given me the motivation to get started. How does "Zen and the Rat of Sleepfulness" sound?
