You are right Yousef. I forgot the small number of Palestinians had automatic firearms to use against the tanks, rockets, planes and helicopters. Excuse the oversight.

1 - One side being more powerful then the other doesn't make it a massacre. The Palestinians could and did resist and they didn't make things easy for the Israelis. A massacre would have been if they surrendered and were killed, or if Israel didn't accept a surrender and just killed all or most of the Palestinians after it had become totally unnecessary.

2 - The Israelis could have massacred the Palestinians if they wanted to. If they didn't care about destroying whole towns and killing a lot of civilians they could have just called in massive artillery and air strikes. (They could have even used nukes.) What they did do was use heavier weapons in a very restrained way while there soldiers went building to building to defeat the terrorists. More Israeli soldiers died because of this. What other country in the region would have been so restrained if it faced the same situation?

Good point Alighieri. Let's get that UN team in there to find out. They will determine who is the wrongdoer.

And why should we think the UN team will be unbiased and not manipulated by the Palestinians. Israel didn't refuse any team they just wanted a team that seemed less biased against them and more knowledgeable about war and anti-terrorist actions.

In the same situation the US probably would have refused to admit the team, whether or not we did anything wrong.
