Will it turn out to be "the greatest strategic disaster in our history," as retired Army Lt. Gen. William E. Odom, the Army's chief of intelligence and director of the National Security Agency during the Reagan administration, recently asserted?

I saw an interview with Odom a week or two ago. For such an obviously intelligent man, his case is so weak as to be laughable. He essentially says that invading Iraq was a tremendous mistake because it has no strategic value. Wha?

I think Odom and the old Army knuckles like him are so locked in the "Big War" ideas that they can't see outside their box.
