Van: Sounds like you could use "Trading for a Living" by A. Elder, and there is a corresponding Trading for a Living work book. I'm pretty new to daytrading too--do you recommend the brokerage you've used so far? It seems all people talk about is their dissatifaction with them. I guess they're all swamped and struggling with the new technologies. Which leads to my second question: How has your experience been with the screens and accoutrements? Also, do you read thestreet.com? There is a columnist there, Gary Smith, who writes "Technician Takes", and last year he documented his forays into daytrading. At first he loaded up on gizmos only to wind up paring down to his PC and a battery powered backup to avoid the increasingly frequent power outages (he lives in northeast). He uses Investor's Business Daily to get picks for his position trades (that he holds for a few day) and various methods for his day trades. I'm reading Jeff Cooper, trying to learn to spot patterns...
