New York Post Stories Give Web Films Thumbs Up as Kanakaris Rolls Out The Movie Delivery System of the 21st Century

COSTA MESA, Calif., May 5, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Kanakaris
Communications, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: KKRS) announced that it was mentioned
in two New York Post stories on May 4th under the headline, "Web Films Get
Thumbs Up," and CEO Alex Kanakaris called the Internet "the movie delivery
system that will quickly evolve into a challenge to home video stores, no matter
what old, non-Internet savvy business people may say."

In the New York Post, writer Lou Leminick (in a story accessible at
www.NewYorkPost.com ) stated, "Thanks to my high-speed hookup and 19-inch
monitor (the films at Kanakaris web site www.CinemaPop.com )... looked damned
good."

Following this week's launch by Kanakaris of 85 feature films, short films and
TV shows which are available for viewing at various bandwidth rates, CEO Alex
Kanakaris issued the following statement, drawing a line of contention with
conventional wisdom being espoused by some home video chain store owners.

"What is happening at sites like www.CinemaPop.com is the introduction of the
delivery system that will replace home video stores as the #1 revenue source for
Hollywood's motion picture entertainment industry. Some old, entrenched business
leaders still want to make the Internet disappear as a place for eCommerce, but
it will not go away.

"I was employed by the founder of the first video store chain which preceded the
growth of Blockbuster at the height of the home video revolution in the late
'70s. We thought there would never be another business gold rush to equal the
growth of home video, but the World Wide Web makes that evolution seem pale by
comparison. George Atkinson, founder of the then 600 store Video Station
network, is an employee of Kanakaris today, helping us usher in the next movie
delivery revolution," he stated.

"Kanakaris, this week, is delivering movies securely over the Internet with free
advertising supported, subscription and pay-per-view options. Once we are able
to deliver cyber popcorn they will have to shutter the old video stores," he
added lightheartedly.

"I have heard of statements made yesterday on national news outlets by prominent
individuals who have a vested interest in the status quo and I find them
ludicrous and out of touch with the reality of the 21st century. I will debate
any well known business person live on our web site over the future of movie
distribution," stated CEO Kanakaris.

One of the new features available in pay-per-view broadband at www.CinemaPop.com
is Casablanca Express, starring Glenn Ford and Donald Pleasence (1989), and
short subjects and classic television shows from Bob Hope, Art Linkletter, Jack
Benny and Lucille Ball.

This brings the total number of titles at Kanakaris Communications' web site
www.CinemaPOP.com to over 300.
