He Jiankui of the Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, China, shocked hundreds of scientists gathered at an international gene-editing summit in Hong Kong

Dr He revealed new genetically modified babies.

While He's first experimental baby rocked scientists around the world with ethical questions swirling around his genetic modification of babies. These questions today turned into an uproar as Dr He introduced the first child modified to be able to breath with gills. He told reporters he has every assurance that the "aqua-baby" will lead a healthy and long life both on land and water.

Dr He unveils baby with gills

Dr He said the baby was cross-bred with farm-raised Tilapia fish, so the child will be good eating with oyster sauce if the gill-child's development doesn't go to plan.

As stunned reporters photographing the baby with gills, Dr He unveiled sketches of his next genetic project creating the perfect citizen of China - equally comfortable on land as in the sea.

Along with webbed feet and hands He claims he has removed the unfortunate Chinese facial characteristics remaking the face along a more classic European look. The "cats eye" inner lid in each eye will allow future Chinese to adapt to a world with far more radiation, while paler skin will permit the creation of Vitamin D with a minimum of sunlight breaking through China's smog. Greatly increased amounts of fur-like hair will reduce national expenditures on clothing for future Chinese citizens.

Dr He rejected claims by president Donald Trump that his son Eric is one of the earliest experiments produced by He Jiankui's genetic research. He said he never would have agreed to design a human with dull-looking sheep-like eyes scrunched into the center of the face.
