Hi, JLA and Jim. I appreciate the discussion on sending kids to boarding school. I think it depends so much on the personality and maturity of the kid. I think my mother was more broken up than I when I got on the train that first year. I feel that I missed something socially (all male) but never felt that I was rejected somehow. My parents simply felt that they were doing the best for me. I probably, in the big picture, benefitted from it, but not enough to feel strongly about sending my own kids. Life is amazing. You should never spend much time worrying about what might have happened if you had taken a different path. G. W.
