Sun: Re: "how much longer? bounce tomorrow and then downward spiral again?"

I think you have twenty trading based on history from January 16th for some kind of bottom. So that would seem to put us in mid February at the latest. Things really kick into gear, it seems, with the Dow in the late stages maybe because this average has held up better for whatever reason. If one believes this is a bear market, one will wait for the huge series of spike down days in the DOW IMO. Today was just a prelude. We might have some respites and bounces but I would not touch them on the long side for more than a quick trade. Bias is to the short side on any rallies.

Re: "most who follow cycles have a trough occurring between last monday and september 5th. does this alter any of your thinking?"

I assume you mean February 5th. I am ignoring any cycle calls. Bear seems back in control and the kind of bear I envision in the short term does whatever it wants whenever it wants.
