It appears that the Cisco code which is inconsistent with IP standards is the only thing that will slow them down. Wrong. BAY is the result of botched mergers and few believe that Nortel will successfully merge with BAY. At the very least, Nortel will be handicapped and distracted by the merger, falling farther behind in a race it is already losing.
