The only times i leave an offer showing in the depth is when i'm accumulating, like in picking up jdx when it was slow through the summer i would stick in an offer for four or five times what i had on the bid ... not on the inside offer, but a penny or three above, just so it shows on the depth and looks scarey. Get the fill on the bid and pull the offer quick. Don't know for sure if it helps or not, but it does seem to. The method is used in reverse by people selling sometimes, they stick big bids in the depth with no intention of buying, just to encourage people to pick some off their offer. Difference is, when they do it, they're sleazeballs -g-
Never hurts to stay a little cynical, you can always buy paper but you can't always sell it, more gets printed every day, don't fall in love with 'em, bla bla bla. I'm not a convinced believer in anything, just playing the odds ... one of the thoughts on Rock this morning is that it's trading at less than one per cent of the market cap of rxd, and i ask you - do they have a suit against the NDP? I bet Rock drills first, too, lol. What a world, eh.
Lola, good point about All or None orders, but you know, i've seen some of my AoN orders showing up right away on the depth, can't think of an instance now but it was in the last few months, and with two houses, many times ... i think they stick the order in sometimes, if they get only a partial fill they take it on their house account, if they fill it they pass it on ... of course you can't be sure of any of it, they run the show. |
