The problem is definitely on both sides of the table. But Unions have become so self-centered, their leadership so corrupt, and their short and long term costs so outrageous (yes, due to lousey negotiations by management) that they are a detriment to the organization which they purport to support. And before you mention it, NOT ALL unions are such.

BTW, my comments are from observation of industry, Sate and Local, and Fed Unions over the years. And also 2 years sitting across that Negotiating Table with the AFGE who represented about 3,000 blue and white collar workers in my Command. Thankfully, I had a very experienced SES to do the heavy lifting.
