( BW)(CAFUJITSU) Fujitsu to Integrate Intel LowPower Mobile Pentium Processors into Future Tablet PCs

Business Editors/HighTech Writers

SANTA CLARA, Calif.(BUSINESS WIRE)Nov. 11, 2001Fujitsu PC Corporation (FPC), a whollyowned subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited (TSE:6702), today announced a strategic relationship with Intel Corporation to integrate Intel(R) lowpower mobile Pentium(R) processors into its Tablet PCs.

Working together with Intel, Fujitsu expects to be one of the first vendors to market a penbased product in 2002 meeting Microsoft's Tablet PC Initiative guidelines. Early concept models of Fujitsu's Tablet PCs equipped with Intelbased processors were showcased during Bill Gates' keynote address on Sunday, November 11, 2001 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Designing and manufacturing pen tablet computing solutions for more than a decade, Fujitsu has established itself as the leader in this innovative industry. In a recent market study published by International Data Corporation (IDC), Fujitsu is the undisputed leader in the pen tablet PC market with a 57 percent worldwide share and 63 percent in the United States.

Fujitsu's decision to integrate Intel's processor technology into its Tablet PC solution was based on the ability of its central processing units (CPUs) to process data at high performance speeds and deliver lower power consumption and longer lasting battery life technologies.

"We are intrigued by the many advantages Intel's processors offer in dynamic power management and robust computing power, which enhance the overall value of the mobile computing solution," said Sara Nelson, vice president of marketing for Fujitsu PC Corporation. "Over the years, Fujitsu has achieved a great deal of success with its Intelbased Stylistic family of pen tablet PCs. We hope to continue this tradition by incorporating Intel's Pentium processors into our future Tablet PCs."

"We are excited to continue our collaboration in enhancing the Tablet PC with a forward thinking company like Fujitsu," said Frank Spindler, vice president and general manager of Intel's Mobile Platforms Group. "The combination of our power efficient mobile processors and technologies along with Fujitsu's design expertise will deliver new levels of mobility with full PC functionality."
