Both Repubs and Dems listen to him on the commute home...He asked today for Military response to Murtha's comments ....
TO A PERSON, NOT a single one of the callers that I have heard are amused, to say the least!
One Lt Col called as he had the same length of time in the Marines as Murtha did, and told everyone listening that in the last 30 some years, many things had changed, including the type of warfare we are currently up against.
He suggested that Murtha has been insulated by the beltway for 30 years too many.
The other man I thought was interesting is a Major, has done a tour in Germany and now in Iraq. He said that Murtha was wrong, TOTALLY wrong with his statements today. He felt that he, and the Military had been ...and I quote: """Stabbed in the back by our own government representative""", and had set back the Military efforts and morale with these remarks!
The Major continued to say that until we have rebuilt the schools, the infrastructure, and trained the Iraqis' so they can defend themselves throughout the country, that it was unbelievable that anyone in the US Government who should know what is going on there, would allow themselves to say anything like he said. |
