I don't remember all that stress except when i refused an e5 because i was already going 3 and 4 nights a week to get my college degree.
That meant you were somewhere between an E-1 and an E-4. At those ranks, you don't make any decisions, and the only stress you have to encounter is listening to your direct superiors.

Walz reached E-9. With all the experience he gained, he was entrusted to make a LOT of complicated decisions that directly affected those under his command.

The U.S. military puts a lot of emphasis on NCOs making decisions at the platoon level and below. It's not like the RuZZian military where NCOs do nothing but act as barrier troops to the cannon fodder.

Again, JD should STFU. He only reached E-4.
