George, I am suspecting you have a misunderstanding about where you are. While it is true that you are at the Silicon Investor, the entire Coffee Shop area is made of of threads where the rules are much looser than at the stock threads. People tell jokes, or discuss politics, or their feelings, or act generally spirited, silly and sometimes obnoxious, but that is the way it was designed--as an area to let off steam. Stocks are definitely NOT the subject of discussion here.
I have no idea how you got from the RJR Reynolds thread to this one. Everyone here started off talking about whether Bill Clinton had some sort of sex with Monica Lewinsky, but as the months have dragged on we talk about all sorts of related issues, particularly political ones.
Whose cruel remarks insulted you? The way it looked to me, we were all happily talking about not very much, and you came over here and tried to pick fights with two different people. That is why I said something, to see if you understood where you were, and realized that you seemed a little tense or something.
I am hardly the voice of reason!! But I was intrigued by what you said, and why you suddenly appeared here. Frankly, I still come to the reluctant conclusion that you are lost and are not sure where you are. But if you want to have some general fun when you're not talking about stocks, then the Coffee Shop section of SI is a fun place. Of course, you will make more friends if you're friendly, but I am sure you could be if you realized where you were and wanted to be there. |
