Since sebl was acting almost alone in the sfa market, I wonder if there might be per seat pricing pressure with vntv's entry.

I think there's enough separation between vntv and the remnant CIS folks that they should be in a position to gain share going forward. I realize these results could result in a series of excited, happy posts, but what are the weaknesses and challenges we need to be aware of?

1) Pricing pressure from desparate competitors? -- probably not IMO, experienced buyers of mission critical systems like these know that a low price is an invitation to do business with a weak company.

2) Entry by the big erp guys? It's a concern, but there's so much business in non-industrial manufacturing segments where the erp folks have no presense it isn't a major concern. however, psft cuts accross many industries and i'm concerned psft's long term objectives in this space.

3) y2k diversion of deployment? Nah! this stuff is so strategic i bet the implementations are being driven by department heads or even ceo's concerned about customer retention and loyalty.

Anyone have any thoughts on the other risks?
