Never mind that no one has found any evidence that this is indeed common practice today.

I dont know if its common, but indeed it is done, have witnessed it myself. Once, returning from the Philippines my wife and I ran into a VERY VERY Pregnant friend of hers. I said to my wife, why is she travelling when she looks like she could have her baby at any moment. My wife told me, she is rushing to the USA to have the child there so it can be a US CITIZEN. jdn
