The 5 is slimmer than the 4S, and the extra half inch in height means pretty much nothing as far as fitting into pockets goes. I wear jeans almost exclusively, and have no trouble at all getting it into and out of the pocket.
I forgot to mention I keep my current phone in my left back pocket. It is thin enough and short enough that I don't get back problems due to its size, which I did when I put my wallet there.

I should just borrow one and give it a whirl, I just don't know anyone who has an iPhone 5 yet. They either have the 4S, or earlier iPhone models.
