I think you are wrong to write off ITG
it would be wise to diversify into ITG along with ASTN if you think ASTN will be so successful. They are both going after the same customers, albeit with somewhat different strengths and weak- nesses. Only the last 3 years of ITG growth really matter, and with Bloom- berg on board, they will grow much more dramatically from here. You forget how conservative Bloomberg is, and for them even to suggest an interest in this alternative trading vehicle, is a big plus for both ITG and ASTN alike. I don't even consider OptiMark in any of my ITG/ASTN investments. As a private company, I could care less what they do or say, since none of it is publically accountable. In my mind, ITG is the Turtle, and ASTN is the Hare, and the race has only begun, and with ITG's 3 year head start, they are both winners in my portfolio. |
